About the
Emotional disorders
Where and when they meet
Emotional disorders develop when the person is faced with a situation that is generating a lot of emotional discomfort and feels that it is beyond him/her and that he/she cannot continue with his/her life as it has been developing until now.
Some symptoms and how we work with them
Within these disorders, bodily sensations play an important role as they limit and cause many people to develop avoidant, hiding or running away, or aggressive behaviours. Within these emotional disorders are depressive symptoms, dysthymias, depressions, and the whole dimensional range of anxiety disorders. This way of working with emotional disorders is within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and, more specifically, within the transdiagnostic programme and in brief therapy makes it highly effective.
Versions of anxiety
This approach to emotional disorders includes a more dimensional vision of anxiety, understanding that anxiety moves within a large umbrella in which each of its versions can appear, some being more intense such as Anxiety Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Agoraphobia Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Hypochondriasis and which are the basis of many other pathologies or life situations that generate discomfort.
